Role overview
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Boiler Breakdown Engineer to join our growing team covering Manchester and surrounding areas.
You will focus on domestic boiler breakdowns, fault-finding, repairs, heating maintenance, and associated plumbing works across residential properties. This role suits an engineer who can work independently, diagnose boiler faults efficiently, and provide a high standard of customer service.

Working pattern
Full-time field-based role with reactive appointments and call-outs where required.
Education requirements
Valid Gas Safe registration and current domestic gas qualifications.
Experience requirements
Minimum 3 years experience diagnosing and repairing domestic boiler breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair domestic boiler breakdowns and heating system faults.
- Fault-find heating and hot water systems efficiently, including intermittent and no-heating issues.
- Carry out annual boiler services and landlord gas safety checks when required.
- Complete plumbing and heating works including radiators, valves, pipework, cylinders, and heating components.
- Clearly explain faults and recommended works to customers.
- Complete all works safely, professionally, and in line with Gas Safe regulations.
- Maintain accurate job records using company systems.
- Attend reactive and emergency call-outs where required.
- Manage workload and appointments effectively.
Requirements
- Valid Gas Safe registration.
- Minimum 3 years experience diagnosing and repairing domestic boiler breakdowns.
- Strong domestic boiler, plumbing and heating knowledge.
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability across common boiler manufacturers.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve on site.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Professional, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
Desirable experience
- Experience with a wide range of boiler manufacturers, heating controls and common breakdown faults.
- Experience with heating system repairs, component replacement and remedial works.
- Good understanding of current gas safety legislation and industry standards.
